Hi! We’re James and Sarah, and we run Glossop Pick n Mix — a business built
from passion, hard graft, and a serious sweet tooth.

Our journey began in August 2018, when we launched our little sweet shop from the spare room in our home. James already had experience in the industry, and we thought we’d just be delivering sweets locally at weekends. Within weeks, demand outgrew the spare room… then the front room… then the dining room — until our house was more pick n mix than home.

By early 2019, we took the leap. James went full-time with the business, and within a few months we out grew the house and began searching for a proper unit to grow into. After months of looking, we finally found one in Hadfield. It was bigger than we planned, but we went with our gut and said yes.

That space became our sweet-making HQ — and we did everything ourselves. Cleaning, painting, decorating, flooring (bit by bit, because we had to move stock as we went), building packing tables, and even putting in a false ceiling during what was supposed to be our first ever week off. All of this while Sarah worked full-time as a graphic designer and James handled daily orders, deliveries, and growing the business.

Since then, we’ve come a long way…

We introduced Click & Collect, got ourselves a delivery van to keep up with demand, expanded our space, and grew a small team of amazing locals to help us keep things running smoothly. We even created custom setups to serve corporate clients — from Sky UK, McCain Foods, Vodafone to universities and independent retailers across the UK including Randalls UK!

Sarah looks after customer service, graphics, design, anything technical, corporate, wholesale & party services. James handles marketing, deliveries, stock, Tiktok lives and the day-to-day mayhem. We both pitch in wherever needed — from packing orders to planning the next big idea.

We're passionate about keeping things efficient, friendly, and fun. We pride ourselves on quick service, custom packaging, and top-quality sweets, with a growing focus on sustainability too. Whether you're ordering a treat for yourself or stocking up for an event or business, we’re here to help spread joy — one sweet at a time.
